The Central Stickney Sanitary District was formed in 1954 to serve an area in unincorporated Cook County bounded by Laramie Ave on the east, 51stStreet on the south, Central Ave on the west and near 47thStreet on the north with just sanitary sewage system servicing approximately 851 homes.
In 1968, potable water distribution system was added. These services are now providing drinking water to approximately 705 homes, Charles J. Sahs School (District 110) and several businesses, which comprises an approximate population of 2000.
