The Garden Homes Sanitary District was formed in 1954 after extreme flooding in the area.  We began buying water from Chicago in 1965. Garden Homes is unincorporated Cook County bounded by 115th Street on the North, 119th Street on the South, East side of Harding Avenue on the West, and West side of Central Park on the East. Besides the Volunteer Fire Department, Garden Homes is all residential. We have 398 on water & sewer; 25 of these are on Water only (these are hooked up to Chicago sewer);and 31 Sewer only (these are on Alsip water. Our population is approximately 1472.
