The District was formed under the Sanitary District act of 1936. In 1967 the Old Town Sanitary District was formed in unincorporated Cook County to fine a solution for outdated septic systems and well contamination. We now services about 4,000 Homes, 4 Schools, 6 Churches and many businesses. The approximate population of the Sanitary District is 18,000
