Cook County Board Approves Funding to Improve Transportation Throughout Cook County

The Cook County Board of Commissioners approved funding this week for transportation-related projects for the County’s Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH). These vital projects boost economic development, build up regional transportation and improve the quality of life throughout Cook County.

Justice | $25,819,361.29
Construction of a new interchange with I-294 at Cork Avenue/88th Avenue unlocking economic opportunity and providing direct access to the Illinois Tollway’s newly improved Central Tri-State Tollway Project.

Countywide | $2,500,000
Professional quality control/quality assurance services for material testing, inspection, coordination, documentation and investigation of existing conditions associated with construction projects.

Harwood Heights | $385,000
Reconstruction of Ainslie Street from Harlem Avenue to Oriole Avenue to include the addition of new bike lanes along the corridor.
