Cook County Board Approves Seven Tax Incentives Designed to Support Economic Growth

Cook County Commissioners today approved seven proposals from President Toni Preckwinkle’s Bureau of Economic Development (BED) that will provide tax incentives to businesses in Cook County.

The incentives, designed to promote economic growth, were approved in the following communities: Bedford Park, Bellwood, Homewood, Orland Park, Schaumburg, and South Holland.

“The companies receiving these incentives, designated for either industrial or commercial use, have demonstrated their commitment to our communities and residents,” Preckwinkle said. "I’m pleased that we are able to use our tax incentive tools to either keep or expand businesses in Cook County.”

Details on the incentives follow, listed by municipality:

Applicant Name: Ocean Blue Facilities, LLC ,  4944 W. 73rd Street, Bedford Park
Property Use: Industrial – warehousing and distribution
Description: The applicant will occupy the property for warehousing and distribution of swimming pool supplies: inflatables, safety equipment spa equipment repair kits cleaning products etc. They will package various products together at the site to make a single “kit” to sell to customers.
Type of Incentive: 6b Special Circumstances
 
Applicant Name: AOP/Buddy Bear Carwash, 1059 Mannheim Road, Bellwood
Property Use:  Commercial use - Store front, retail
Description:  The applicant received the original Class 7c in 2015.  The applicant improved the site by building and operating Buddy Bear Carwash 
Type of Incentive: Class 7c Renewal

Applicant Name: Fleet Park, LLC, 955 W. 175th Street, Bellwood
Property Use: Commercial – Office Space
Description: Eagle Express Lines an affiliate of Fleet Park, LLC will use the building to expand their corporate and administrative offices.
Type of Incentive: Class 8

Applicant Name: Dessin Properties, LLC, 1941 & 1943 Ridge Road, Homewood
Property Use: Commercial use – Convert the site into a full-service restaurant
Description: The applicant will convert the site into a full service restaurant, thereby enhancing the commercial viability of the village’s downtown by improving the commercial infrastructure and attract in more visitors to the area.
Type of Incentive: Class 8

Applicant Name: GW Property Group LLC-Series8 / BlitzLake Orland Park LLC, 66 Orland Square Drive, Orland Park
Property Use: Commercial use - Store front, retail
Description: The applicant redeveloped 83,944 sq. ft. of commercial space.  The current tenants are Charter Fitness (18,298 sq. ft.), Orland Park FEC LLC (37,000 sq. ft.) and Skyzone Franchise Group (28,646 sq. Ft.)
Type of Incentive: Class 7c Renewal

Applicant Name: BEM Investments LLC, 1620 North Penny Lane, Schaumburg  
Property Use: Industrial-manufacturing
Description: Applicant intends to purchase the subject property, rehabilitate and occupy the site with a related entity, BEM Mold Inc.  BEM Mold Inc. was established in 1995 and is a CNC machine shop that manufactures high precision machine parts for various industries.
They are currently located in Schaumburg and is relocating and expanding from its existing 20,000 SF to subject property of 82,870 SF.
Type of Incentive: Class 6b Special Circumstances

Applicant Name: 15555 S. LaSalle LLC, 15555 S. LaSalle Street, South Holland
Property Use: Industrial use
Description: Centurian Container, LLC and affiliated company will occupy the property with the purpose of cleaning and reconditioning Industrial containers
Type of Incentive: Class 8
