Readout on Today's Rauner-Preckwinkle Meeting

Governor-elect Bruce Rauner and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle held a positive and productive meeting today to discuss issues of mutual concern facing Cook County. The meeting included substantive discussions on a range of issues, including the need for pension reform, criminal justice reform and tax reform. Governor-elect Rauner and President Preckwinkle pledged to work closely together and with the General Assembly in the months ahead to find a bipartisan way forward on meaningful pension reform for Cook County. In the meeting, President Preckwinkle was joined by the county’s Chief Financial Officer.
