Service Information

UPDATE: Our office at 69 W. Washington St. is open, but with limited staffing to encourage social distancing and prevent the spread of COVID-19.  However, services are still being provided.  

Permits: You may apply for asbestos removal or demolition permits or submit reports online, using links in the menu to the right. However processing time may be longer than 48 hours.  Questions can be directed to asbestosdemo@cookcountyil.gov or 312-603-8220. You may also apply for Asbestos Abatement Contractor Registration.

Asbestos Abatement Contractor Registration

To complete the Asbestos Abatement Contractor Registration, you will need electronic copies of the following:

  • A list of all federal, state or local violations you have received regarding construction/asbestos containing materials within the previous 2 years
  • A copy of your current IDPH Contractor's license
  • A signed and notarized copy of required Child Support Affidavit(s). One per owner is required.
  • Credit card or electronic check information for payment of fees
  • $200 Application Fee
