Rabies Vaccine and Microchip Clinics

Service Information

The Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control (ARC) has announced its 2024 Partners in Prevention clinic locations. ARC is partnering with local animal organizations to offer low-cost or free 1-year rabies vaccines and microchips.

Clinics are available to Cook County dogs and cats. Please bring proof of Cook County residency (for example State ID, CityKey, etc.) with you.

Please note: some clinics are available to dogs only as noted in the clinic description and on the flyer. Clinics operate on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise noted. Microchips are administered for free at all clinics and there is no registration fee. For more information about the microchips used, please visit: 24petwatch.com

Pursuant to the Cook County Ethics Ordinance, Section 2-586 - Newsletters, Brochures, Public Service Announcements, and Promotional Materials, County funds cannot be used to print flyer advertisements during an election period.

About Partners in Prevention Clinics

The Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control rabies vaccine and microchip clinics protect public health by increasing the availability of life protecting rabies vaccinations to pet owners at an affordable cost. Our visibility throughout the County reminds all pet owners that rabies vaccinations are required by law and it's important to vaccinate dogs and cats. Ensuring residents' pets remain healthy by getting vaccinated helps stop the spread of rabies among our pet and human population.

Free microchips are also available to County pets regardless if a rabies vaccine was administered or not. At our clinics, we assist the pet owner with completing the registration forms to ensure that the pet is properly registered. The microchip is not a GPS, it cannot show the location of the lost pet. It is important for pet owners to register their pet with the microchip company from which the microchip was derived (forms will be provided). If pet owners did not register their pet's microchip from a previous clinic, please contact our office to obtain information about enrollment.
